Job Description:

Job Profile: Retail Supervisor

FLSA: Exempt

General Function:

This position ensures store operations comply with company policy and philosophy. Advises store supervisors on sales and marketing ideas as well as product lines and quality. Assists with purchasing of product and equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides sales and marketing ideas to department managers.Supervises freshness and quality of meat products at stores.Reviews monthly inventories, sales, profit, and volume sold per employee hour.Assists managers with equipment and personnel issues.Maintains standards by communicating, training, and reinforcing corporate expectations for sanitation practices and product quality, variety, and priceKeeps current on industry trends in new food items, equipment, and methods.Assists with the development of new products.Assists with the development of company-wide promotions and materialsPerforms store visits.Reviews budget requests.Plans and organizes schedules.Reviews and approves blue prints.Orders equipment for new or remodeled stores.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.Maintains and records expense accountsAttends and participates in company meetings, industry meetings, and trade showsResponsible for company vehicle maintenance

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; 5 – 8 years of similar or related work experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Instructing, assigning work, reviewing work, planning the work of others, and maintaining standards.

Physical Requirements:

Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.Must be physically able to perform heavy work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 100 pounds, and significant standing or walking.Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

10 key calculator, telephone, copier, FAX, PC with Excel and printer. Standard tools and equipment used in a meat processing department including grinder, saw, tenderizer, scale systems, patty machine, tumblers, knife, and computers. Company car.

Financial Responsibility:

Responsible for ordering equipment for departments, company car and credit cards.

Contacts:

Has daily contact with store personnel. Has monthly contact with suppliers/vendors.

Has access to confidential financial statement information.
