Job Description
As a Delivery Buyer, you will be a key member of the associate team responsible for performing both tactical and strategic buying activities to ensure on-time delivery and overall part readiness in support of Manufacturing, Engine Assembly, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO). This role involves supporting cost, sourcing, and supplier management functions within the Purchasing Department. You will initiate and evaluate RFQ/RFPs, place POs based on cost, quality, and delivery requirements, and coordinate meetings with suppliers and customers to meet business project goals.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure on-time delivery and achievement of project goals.Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best possible quality, cost, and delivery terms.Support cost, sourcing, and supplier management functions within the Purchasing Department.Initiate and evaluate RFQ/RFPs to support business needs.Coordinate meetings with suppliers and customers to ensure business project goals are met.Provide support to team members to ensure processes are understood and followed.Work with Engineering and Suppliers to accomplish process improvement goals.Handle distressed supplier situations and manage supplier relationships.Travel to suppliers to handle major delivery issues (less than 25% travel required).Essential SkillsMinimum 3 years of procurement or logistics-related experience.Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, manufacturing engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent work experience.Strong project management and problem-solving skills.Good negotiation and analytical skills.Ability to manage supplier relationships and work in teams to build consensus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Comfortable with phone communication.Experience with MRP systems.Experience with distressed suppliers is REQUIRED. Experience DELIVERY buying is required. Experience in manufacturing or engineering industry, aerospace is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsTechnical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings, preferably in Aerospace.Supplier on-time delivery experience without impacting manufacturing, assembly, or MRO activities.Supplier management experience, including problem resolution, contract review, and negotiation of terms and conditions.Experience in developing strategic plans, coordinating projects, and communicating changes and progress (RFP/RFQ, NPI, Change Point Control).Work Environment
This is a 100% onsite role with a one-hour lunch break. There is little flexibility for remote work. The role involves working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of parts. The work environment is dynamic and requires strong communication and negotiation skills. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $88000.00
16 national holidays, 6 sick days, 4 personal days, 10 PTO days, Health, Dental, Vision, 401K 8% match.
