Job DescriptionThe delivery driver/plant operator. will work as a plant operator and act as a backup driver as needed.
The hourly range for this role is minimum wage up to $21.00.
This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives. Pay will be based on experience level.
Essential Functions:
Adherence to federal and state motor carrier safety regulations as specified by the US Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies of the federal and state governmentsConduct routine vehicle, and pre/post trip inspections of the vehicle and report vehicle maintenance problems to Management upon discoveryUnload and load merchandise at the distribution center and multiple store locations utilizing lift-gates, pallet jacks and material handling equipment in a safe and efficient mannerRecord all transfers and sales on the destination report, master load out, and other required formsMaintain and submit daily trip and fuel logs; Ensure delivery paperwork is completed and collect payments from customersPerforms other duties as assigned and required by direct supervisorResponsible for all aspects of the retread manufacturing process to include inspections and evaluation of required tire repair, buffing tires, applying compounds, and curingInspect repaired/retreaded tires to determine any defects according to industry standards and specifications and make additional repairs as neededPerform inspections on equipment used in repair/retread process and makes necessary repairs following manufacturer guidelines Maintains standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of plant Receives, unloads, and stores tires/retreads and related products Adheres to all company and regulatory safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of protective safety equipmentQualifications
High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of six months of box (straight) truck driving experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge & Skills:
• Ability to interpret and execute instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram formats
• Ability to take initiative in identifying problems, collecting data, and establishing facts in order to produce practical decisions and solutions
• Basic math skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This job operates in Warehouse and store environments. The job will have exposure to a moderate noise level, adverse weather conditions, chemicals, odors, dirt and dust.Must possess a current valid class driver’s license and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)Ability to work rotational Saturdays and holidaysMust be able to lift and carry merchandise and supplies including passenger and truck tires up to 120 lbs. with assistanceMust be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card Frequent sitting, standing and walking for long periods of timeFrequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting.Additional InformationBenefits
