Delivery & Set Up Driver
Position Profile Overview

Responsible for the efficient and quality pick-up, relocation, and delivery of office equipment, ensuring safety and professionalism at all times. This role involves the installation and networking of equipment, providing basic training to customers, and maintaining compliance with all federal DOT requirements and Delivery Safety Standards.

Key Responsibilities

Safe Delivery: Ensure equipment is safely delivered to the correct location.

Logbook Maintenance: Maintain logbooks in accordance with DOT regulations (electronic or manual).

Vehicle Inspections: Conduct pre- and post-trip reviews to ensure the vehicle is safe, clean, and compliant with all DOT and state laws.

Cost Minimization: Perform pick-ups alongside deliveries to minimize costs.

Technical Installations: Perform basic connected installations, including setting up IP addresses, downloading print drivers, removing hard drives when required, and backing up customer address books.

Customer Training: Provide basic training on printing standalone and network devices.

Safety Programs: Participate in Safety Programs.

Customer Communication: Pre-call customers when applicable.

Productivity: Achieve expected productivity levels based on workload and experience.

Technical Skills: Demonstrate good technical skills.

Customer Relations: Exhibit excellent customer relation skills, identify customer needs, and take appropriate action.

Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to the service and process teams regarding networking and installation initiatives.

Equipment Configuration: Ensure equipment is configured according to the Bill of Lading, traveler, or other documentation.

Loading/Unloading: Ensure equipment is properly loaded and secured in the van/truck. Assist with loading/off-loading as needed.

Electronic Signatures: Use phones to capture electronic customer signatures upon transaction completion.

Paperwork Processing: Ensure all paperwork is signed and processed as required.

Training: Assist in training new Delivery Drivers on new products and proper loading techniques.

Incident Reporting: Follow all accident/incident reporting guidelines and procedures.

Inventory Management: Conduct cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and manage inventory discrepancies.

Warehouse Equipment: Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, stair climbers, and pallet jacks.

Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Safe Driving Record: Maintain a safe driving record.

Technical Training: Complete online technical training focused on networking and installation.

On-the-Job Training: Participate in on-the-job training with field technicians at customer locations or Transfer Centers.

Commercial Vehicle Eligibility: Eligible to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations.

Driver’s License: Maintain a valid driver’s license per company policy and, if applicable, a commercial driver’s license.

Experience: Minimum of two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.

Road Test: Pass a road test.

Medical Card: Possess a valid and current medical card.

Age Requirement: Be at least 20 years old.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Navigation Skills: Ability to read maps and electronic GPS.

Overnight Stays: Be prepared for overnight stays based on DOT regulations or peak periods.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Handling: Ability to handle oversized and overweight equipment.

Safety Awareness: Ability to identify at-risk behaviors and make quick corrections.

Customer Skills: Strong customer presentation and communication skills.

Technology Skills: Familiarity with smartphones, tablets, and basic computer skills.

Technical Skills: Adequate technical skills to install and network equipment.

Problem-Solving: Methodical approach to resolving problems that may arise.

Basic Skills: Adequate reading, math skills, and legible writing.

Warehouse Equipment: Certification on warehouse equipment operations may be required.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Risk Management: Follow appropriate lifting/moving procedures and road rules to prevent serious injuries.

Physical Effort: Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting of equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. Moving equipment may weigh up to 1000 pounds.

Environment: Work in various conditions including office, warehouse, and van/truck environments with exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.

Independence: Ability to work independently.
