The Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting demand across customers and product lines.  The goal of this position is to develop accurate forecasts that enable the business to provide a high service level while minimizing inventory investment. The Demand Planner must have strong communication skills to collaborate with customers, gather information from cross functional peers and report out to executive team.  The Demand Planner must be a proactive problem solver and possess strong analytical skills. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maximize forecast accuracy at the item and category level. Develop long term plans to guide company demand projections. Generate reports to identify market trends and track key metrics to predict customer order behavior. Develop item level and category forecasts by utilizing customer data, POS, shipment history, upcoming promotions, and new product rollout data Take a key role in the Sales and Operations Planning process Work with Sales and Sales Planning to develop promotional plans Work with Brand and Sales Planning to develop new product forecasts. Collaborate with customers on forecast and supply while building relationships with customer planning teams. Develop a rolling 12 to 18 month forecast and present findings in monthly DRM meetings. Maintain system data and verify all information uploaded into ERP system. Track and report forecast accuracy by item Support company information requirements through completion of account forecasts, customer service reports and special requests, as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business or equivalent. 1-2 years of experience using forecasting systems. Experience in a consumer product environment. Previous experience with ERP systems is required; SAP experience preferred.  Strong computer skills with emphasis on the Microsoft Office suite: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and understand large volumes of data. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus.
