The Demand Analyst is responsible for forecasting activities associated with assigned products and/or sales channels/categories. This is achieved by creating and maintaining forecast models for customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales, Marketing, customers and syndicated consumer data. In addition, this position will support Supply & Demand Managers, Category Management, and Account Management. The Demand Analyst will be responsible for utilizing tools such as Excel, PowerBI, and forecasting tools, to drive efficient business decisions. The Demand Analyst’s focus is to drive improvements in KPIs such as fill rates, risk of waste, and inventory days on hand.
\nEssential Duties:
\n\n\nDevelop demand statistical forecasts at several levels of aggregation (category hierarchy down to product level detail), for weekly demand planning functions.\n\n
\n\nBuild, maintain, and continue improving demand forecasts based on historical sales, market trends, seasonality, and promotions to support decision-making with the lowest forecast error rate possible.\n\n
\n\nWork cross-functionally across multiple departments to collect information on promotions, sales/marketing initiatives, category growth and penetration initiatives, market data, and price fluctuations to improve the model and make better educated assumptions.\n\n
\n\nLead weekly calls with the designated Account Managers around sales strategy, market updates, obsolete and slow inventory, and other areas as assigned.\n\n
\n\nPerform both product and customer segmentation analysis to determine appropriate focus areas.\n\n
\n\nMonitor product detail purchases and sales to create inventory optimization models.\n\n
\n\nMaintain, automate, and improve reporting functionality across different supply chain departments.\n\n
\n\nLead and assist in ad-hoc department projects.\n\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n
Qualifications:
\n\nBachelor’s degree (B. S.) from a college or university; preferably in Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Logistics, Operations, Statistics, or Economics.\n\n\n1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain with a focus on demand disciplines or related field.\nDemonstrated expertise working with Excel (statistical functions, VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables) and Business Intelligence (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).\nIntermediate MS SQL experience (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, etc.).\nPreferred Industry certification in Supply Chain, i.e.: APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).\nPreferred experience with demand planning software (i.e.: Anaplan, Logility, Blue Ridge, ForecastPro, Blue Yonder) a plus.\nAbility to work with large data sets (cleaning, auditing, and formatting data) to conduct thorough and accurate analysis.\nStrong mathematical background.\nStrong ability and desire to work both independently and in group / project settings.\n\n\nStrong verbal/written communication and group presentation skills.\n\nCorporate Summary:
