JOB PURPOSE
The Demand Planning / Logistics Specialist for the Ground Support Division USA is responsible for vendor management, shipping (in-and outbound), inventory control, demand planning and last mile delivery of ground support products in the region. The role provides the link between the Productions Units (PUs), third-party vendors and the Sales Area (SA).
This role is focused on developing and maintaining optimal security of supply while achieving cost efficiency in end-to-end logistics. The Demand Planning / Logistics Specialist will be instrumental in assisting the BLM in making informed decisions to allow for agility in all matters related to logistics and ultimately exceeding our customer’s expectations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Demand Planning / Vendor Management
Maintain communications with all relevant Pus/vendors to understand raw material inventories and capacities relevant to SA productsMaintain communication with BSSRs/CSSRs to understand customer demand patterns and develop robust inventory forecastsAssist and collaborate with CSSRs regarding stock procurementsSet up new suppliers with Vendor Management TeamLogistics
Maintain relationships with brokers and freight forwarders as well as shipping/warehousing personnel at PUs and customers.Schedule pick ups at PU and facilitate deliveries to customer or warehouseSchedule and facilitate shipping out of warehouse locationsMonitor and consolidate shipping cost data developmentsStay current with geopolitical developments that have potential to disrupt/impact supply chainsAssist BLM in identifying alternative logistic solutions to ensure logistical agility, security of supply and cost efficiencyInventory control
Monitor inventory levels in regards to quantities, value and OSMI developmentestablish min/max and reorder points for high-turnover products in conjunction with BLM/CSSR/BSSRVerify quantities and availability as required for financial teamAssist with cycle counts and inventory adjustments as neededAssist with providing documentation as required during auditsGeneral
Cross train with CSSR in order capture/management tasksStaying current with customer/industry development to assist the overall team in market share capture and seamless business flowCOMPETENCIES
