Demand Planning Manager
Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide. The Demand Planning team is one of the most central functions within Capacity Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP). We drive forecasts, plans and capacity decisions which directly impact Microsoft's cloud customers, as well as our margins. To do this successfully, we partner closely across Microsoft with Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Data Centers, New Product Introduction (NPI) and Deployment Engineering. The Demand Planning Manager will plan development and engagement, while impacting customer capacity availability and the bottom-line cost for the Azure Business. This role is demanding, but also offers opportunity for high impact, visibility, and growth. **Responsibilities** A successful candidate for this role will bring effective analytical and communication skills, driving solid decision under continued uncertainty and change, while also driving continued improvement in our operations, processes, and tools. There are four key areas to this role: + Own capacity decisions, managing forecasts and translating into hardware units for optimal capacity plan across Azure. + Lead Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) forums to balance demand and supply risks. + Engage with a wide set of stakeholders, from Software engineering to Finance to Supply Planning, driving clarity and alignment on business needs. + Continually develop and improve the processes and tools to keep pace with continued hyperscale and complexity. + **Other** + Embody our culture and values . **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience + OR equivalent experience. **Other Requirements:** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  + **Microsoft Cloud Background Check:** This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 5+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operations experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience + OR equivalent experience. + Experience with Demand planning and/or Supply chain management and good understanding of different supply chain models + Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Effective communication skills and the ability to manage key stakeholders, resolve problems and seek practical solutions. + Proficiency in Enterprise Planning systems (such as SAP, Oracle, E2Open, etc.) and business intelligence engines (SQL, Power BI, Power Pivot, Tableau, etc.) are highly desired for this role. **Demand Planning IC3** - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year.
