This role will work Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. as needed.  

The Dental Assistant under general supervision, performs duties associated with the delivery of clinical dental care. Interacts favorably with patients, parents, co-workers, supervisors, dentists, and other Hospital staff in a dignified manner so that the Department’s operations are orderly, efficient, and consistent with Hospital decorum and high standards of professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Page, greet, and seat patients. Weigh the patient if applicable. Prepare electronic documents including discharge summary and school/work excuse. Assist in the clinic and hospital OR and Satellite locations including proper room set up, chair side assisting and clean up in accordance with hospital and clinic standards. Take and pour study model impressions, trim, and finish cases, mail and receive appliances and models from laboratories Give and receive accurate and complete information to parents and doctors while displaying professionalism. Perform all necessary housekeeping procedures including keeping all work areas properly stocked. Manage spills and patient accidents Take and develop radiographs of consistent, good diagnostic quality for review by the dentist. Mix various cements and materials and place topical anesthetics and rubber dams on patients. Pass instruments to the Dentist/Orthodontist during Dental/Orthodontic examinations and procedures using four-handed dental assisting techniques. Maintain equipment and supplies with oversight from the Clinic Coordinator.
