Dental Assistant - Paying up to $21/hr.
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist patients in resolving minor difficulties, answer their questions, and provide directions as authorized by the dentist or dental hygienist. Responsibilities include:
Maintaining Dental Department equipment according to manufacturer’s directions and department protocols.Ensuring all Dental Department areas comply with infection control, exposure control, and safety protocols.Keeping operatory supplies stocked and compiling a list of shortages for inventory control and ordering.Pulling and filing patient charts as needed.Handling necessary telephone calls related to professional matters, clinic business, and patient care.Assisting with various clinical and administrative functions as appropriate and time permits.Ensuring the sterility of all reusable dental instruments and equipment in accordance with department protocols.Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate, or a minimum of two years of work experience in a related field.Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting is preferred but not required.Pediatric experience is preferred, or the candidate should be comfortable working with pediatric patients.Current CPR (BLS) certification is required.Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines and protocols.Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required; Spanish language skills are preferred.Skills and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of dental assisting techniques and procedures for all phases of general dentistry.Knowledge of modern dental materials, their storage, handling, and applications.Ability to respond empathetically and professionally to the expectations and concerns of dental patients.Ability to work with individuals from diverse social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.Ability to collaborate creatively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal results for patients within an integrated primary healthcare system.Ideal Candidate:
Experience with assisting with X-rays, sterilization, cleaning rooms, fluoride application, and pediatric care.Work Environment:
Monday to Friday, day shift, 8-hour shifts.Pay: $16.50 - $17 per hour for non-certified and no experience.Pay: $17 - $21 per hour for certified and/or experienced candidates (certification or school program completion not required).If you are passionate about dental care and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply!
