Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you will be part of a collaborative clinic team, working closely with faculty, patient care managers, dental student providers, and treatment coordinators. Your primary role will involve assisting dental students in various procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient clinic operations. This position requires professionalism, a caring attitude towards patients, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

ResponsibilitiesPerform chair-side assistance for undergraduate and graduate dental students.Set up trays and prepare rooms for procedures.Schedule patients and confirm appointments.Maintain clinic cleanliness and manage the opening and closing of the clinic.Deliver and retrieve instruments to and from sterilization, and store them appropriately upon return.Ensure operatories are adequately supplied and maintain a complete inventory of clinical supplies.Adhere to Infection Control Protocol and maintain appropriate attire and eyewear.Assist with the cleanup, breakdown, and setup of rooms.Facilitate the preparation and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment.Essential SkillsX-rayHygieneInfection controlDental Assistant graduateCPR certificationKnowledge of infection controlSterilization and dispensaryRadiology certificateAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience requiredIf RDA, need to be registeredCurrent Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificationRadiology certificateInfection Control CertificateWork Environment

You will be working in the College of Dental Medicine, in a fast-paced office with about 68 chairs and approximately 78 patients a day. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The work environment is very close-knit, with a family-like culture. The dress code includes professional attire, no jewelry, closed-toe shoes, and black scrubs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
