UTHealth Houston’s School of Dentistry is hiring for a **Dental Assistant I/II** to join their team of professionals in the department of Endodontics. The DA I will be responsible for performing all duties required for four-handed chairside dentistry; performing infection control sterilization and instrument sterilization according to CDC guidelines; taking CBCTs/Dental Radiographs; fully stocking & maintaining inventory; and more. CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is preferred. Experience working within an Endodontics clinical setting is a plus!

**Position Summary:**
Perform routine tasks assisting the professional dental staff and students in the examination and prophylactic, therapeutic and surgical treatment of patients. Works under direct supervision.
**Position Key Accountabilities:**
1. Assists in the teaching of dental students, dental assisting students, and dental hygiene students in the principles of four-handed dentistry and dental assistant utilization (DAU).
2. Provides chair side assistance to students and faculty.
3. Maintains sterile, and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies within working area.
4. Maintains infection control standards.
5. Maintains records of patients seen, procedures performed, materials used, and appointments.
6. Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
**Certification/Skills:**
Dental Assistant Registration by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
Basic office or computer skills.
**Minimum Education:**
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a recognized dental assistant educational program preferred.
**Minimum Experience:**
None.
**Physical Requirements:**
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
