Posting Summary Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) is seeking a Dental Assistant II for the Rutgers Health University Dental Associates (RHUDA) located in New Brunswick, NJ.  

The Dental Assistant II provides support to faculty at RHUDA-New Brunswick and performs work related to the care, sterilization, packing, and disbursement of equipment and supplies. The Dental Assistant maintains all aspects of sterilization procedures related to dental instruments and supplies associated with patient care within the various clinical operations, provides chair side dental assisting to providers in all disciplines, and takes various dental x-rays as assigned by providers.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Seats patients, adjusts chairs, and drapes patients with protective covers. Lays out dental instruments and supplies. Hands instruments to doctor during examinations and treatment of patients. Operates suction equipment. Mixes filling and impression materials. Maintains all dental equipment.  Maintains patient records (individual, daily, monthly and yearly).  Develops and mounts x-rays. Contacts patients for appointments personally, by telephone and mail. Charts examinations under the direction of the doctor. Files all records.  Serves as sterilization assistant. Restocks equipment and supplies. Maintains enough supplies on hand to efficiently run the clinic.  Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
