Astria Health is looking to add a Dental Assistant to our Team. This position is a temporary position with day shift hours at our Dental Clinic.
As a Dental Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Registered Dental Hygienist or Dentist. You will:
Conducts complete patient X-ray procedures, including panoramic and cephalometric radiographs and intra oral photographs. Develops and stores the X-rays in the electronic patient's dental record. Records periodontal charting per the Providers’ instruction.Maintains patient medical records, updating patient medical history and vital signs as needed. Prepares and sets up instruments and equipment necessary for the patient exam/procedures performed by the Provider. Performs preventative care on patients, including applying coronal polish, fluoride treatments, and sealants. Provides education and counsel in oral hygiene for patients in the clinic and school-based outreach programsAssists in implementing and monitoring the patient infection control program for the clinic, including ensuring the integrity of sterile packaging, and sterilizing operatories.Ability to perform four-handed dental assisting, including instrument transfer, oral evacuation, cement mixing, and spatulation.Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.
What you bring to the role:
High School Graduation or GED. Dental Assistant Registration within 7 days of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Oral and written fluency in the English language.
