JOB GOAL:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, performs clerical support for staff and faculty of the Industrial Technologies department. This position requires a positive presence, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. This individual must be able to work with a high degree of independent judgment and decision-making capability within the context of the assigned duties. Contact with college staff, students, and visitors is frequent and varied, and the individual must possess a strong and positive customer service approach to enhance student success.
The hours for this position will vary between Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5pm.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Provide front-line customer support services and Kirkwood information referral to students, faculty, staff and guests via telephone, email, fax and/or walk-in traffic.
+ Collaborate with staff and faculty to manage a variety of projects to ensure effective workflow.
+ Support department enrollment management processes.
+ Perform other related work duties as assigned.

+ With knowledge of office practices and procedures, be able to act responsibly in the absence of the department coordinators and dean.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High school diploma or equivalency required.
+ Must have strong proven ability with various computer software programs, i.e., Word, Excel, etc.
