Department Assistant - Per Diem
*Description* Summary: Ensures Radiology patients are assisted in a welcoming and professional manner. Effectively exchanges information in a professional and courteous manner with supervisors, co-workers, physicians, patients and all hospital guests to provide the highest quality of service. Contributes to office responsibilities to ensure smooth workflow and operation. Responsibilities: * Greets all patients and visitors courteously and professionally. * Verifies accuracy of all patient and exam information during check in process. Provides appropriate paperwork and direct patients to assigned waiting area. * Enters patient orders into Cerner. Schedules patients when needed. * Answers phones in a timely and professional manner, prioritizing and directing calls appropriately. * Adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and proper consents are received to release PHI. * Completes Legal, patient, provider and HIM requests in a timely manner. * Responsible for remaining compliant, current and knowledgeable with Department/Office Policies, Procedures and Guidelines. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Highly organized, ability to multitask and complete filing with accuracy. * Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values. * Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance. * Performs other duties as required. Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT Other Information: Required: High School graduate. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Ability to work on multiple projects. Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Medical software Cerner/Epic encouraged but not required. Working Conditions: Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort.
