Roles and Responsibilities:
The Cyber Physical Deterrence Technologies (L543) department in the Cyber Infrastructure Protection Innovation Center (CIPIC) is seeking a Department Chief Engineer (CE) to be part of the department leadership team to advance the delivery of high quality, high impact technical work for our sponsors, drive innovative solutions, develop department talent, and provide thought leadership. The CE works in partnership with the Department Manager, Group Leaders, Division Chief Engineer, and technical staff to collaborate across the department in both operational and strategic capacities.
The CE is directly involved in the department’s sponsor-oriented technical strategies focusing on cybersecurity, with a focus on five Technical Capability Areas within the department:
OT/IIoT Device Security,Countermeasures for Operational TechnologyWeapon Systems and Critical Support InfrastructureAutonomyCyber Command and ControlThe CE will contribute to the TCAs ongoing evaluation and evolution, as needed, and their execution. The CE serves as a senior technical advisor and contributor, provides thought leadership, identifies opportunities for integration, and drives innovative solutions for sponsors.
Stay ahead of emerging technologies and contribute to department and division strategy development, identifying opportunities to enhance our sponsors' missions. Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI mandatory.Strong technical leader in Operational Technology, or general Industrial Control Systems cybersecurity, and an interest in staying technically informed.Understanding of proprietary vendor protocols and their security limitations. (ex.
