Job Summary
A valued member of our team-based care model, This person is often the first impression and friendly face our patients experience in our student health clinic. Duties include executing medical receptionist functions including:
+ Managing phone and email communications between our patients and our clinical team
+ Scheduling both urgent care and primary care appointments
+ Utilizing the Electronic Health Record to collect
+ Verify, enter and monitor patient data in accordance with HIPPA
+ Manage in-going and out-going faxes and referrals
This role is also critical in maintaining awareness of the patient flow within the clinic, and is able to orchestrate and pivot to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Also, functions as liaison between the health center and other departments on campus.
Education/Skills Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer skills; knowledge of e-mail and the internet; excellent organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills; initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Minimum 2 years experience in a fast-paced office setting required.
Experience in a medical office preferred.
Standard Work Days and Hours
This is a part-time position working Monday – Friday 1:15 – 5:00pm during the academic year when the Health Center is open. The ability to work an occasional morning shift is also required.
