What are we looking for?

The Geotechnical Engineering Department Manager will support the Building and Construction business by overseeing the department and the Geotechnical projects and mentor Technicians, Staff, and Project Geotechnical Engineers.

What you’ll do:

The Department Manager position is responsible for the following duties:

Responsible for overall management of geotechnical engineering services, including P & L responsibility Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments including, engineering analysis and report preparation, field exploration and laboratory services Provide senior review of proposals and reports and ensure that commitments to clients are met. Client relations and business development activities Responsible for the mentoring and training of senior and junior professional staff professionals Actively participate in professional and technical organizations

What it takes to be successful in this role:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and/or Geotechnical Engineering is required Eight or more years of geotechnical engineering design and consulting services experience required Florida Professional Registration (PE) is required Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential Excellent understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines with the ability and desire to provide creative and practical solutions to meet the client’s needs Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is highly preferred Previous staff management experience and P&L responsibilities highly preferred Multi-sector (private, municipal, FDOT) experience preferred
