The Starbucks Manager is first and foremost responsible for customer relations and satisfaction. Responsible for creating a culture where employees are empowered and expected to create an environment of food exploration, innovation and dedication for customers and employees. They actively participate in the hiring, training and coaching of all Starbucks employees to provide world-class customer care. They use equipment safely and ensure that company and departmental policies and Starbucks' procedures are adhered to, as well as meet any state/federal law and labor union compliance. They are responsible to the company for the efficient, safe, and effective operation of the Starbucks Department. They are responsible for meeting the financial expectations of the Starbucks department regarding projections and budgets to achieve sales and profit objectives. Responsible for executing merchandising plans as assigned and providing feedback with continued improvement. Additionally, they communicate with vendors and various community agencies/organizations to ensure an active and involved business relationship within the communities we serve.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a culture of food exploration, innovation and education for customers and employees.
Sets goals for the Starbuck employees, and modeling how the team works together.
Demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events and manages smooth transitions thereafter to keep department operating to standard and to set a positive example.
Displays a customer come first attitude by training and holding employees accountable for delivering excellent customer service.
Drives the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and directly motivating and instructing the Starbucks employees.
Manages with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks.
Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates appropriate responsibilities and practices to employees to ensure smooth flow of operations.
Set standards and enforce safe food preparations and handling ensuring compliance with company food safety policy.
Ensure proper food safety and sanitation procedures are performed.
Ensures proper product rotation and storage.
Orders products for department.
Performs other duties as requested or required by upper management.
Implementing and following Starbucks Operational Policies and Systems.
PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Education Level:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager Certification.
Food Safety Certification required.
Experience Level:
Must be 18 years or older.
3 -5 years proven leadership experience and training or comparable experience.
Skills and Experiences:
Ability to work at fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner.
Ability to work and communicate successfully with all levels of store support management and subordinates.
Ability to plan and organize the activities of others.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of supervision.
Must possess leadership skills, maturity, technical skills, and a proven operations track record.
Knowledge of quality Starbucks products and outstanding customer service is essential.
Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude.
Experience in ordering, inventory maintenance and shrink control.
Maintain sanitation standards throughout the work area.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including opening, closing and weekend and holiday shifts.
Ability to demonstrate personal initiative and exceptional customer service.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office Software
Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to work extended hours and varying work schedule as dictated by the business.
Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time (up to 4 hours).
Perform all other physical aspects of the job including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, and walking.
Must be able to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts.
Must be able to work in a retail store environment.
