Department Specialist - Deli
Overview The Deli Merch Specialist supports department merchandising and category management for all assigned areas. This position will assist in the management of detailed pricing strategies, support weekly and seasonal promotional planning. The Deli Merch Specialist will also help construct and communicate comprehensive business reports and run analytics to optimize performance. The Deli Merch Specialist will work cross functionally with the Category Managers, Culinary Team, Data Integrity, Marketing, and Finance Teams to support and manage the development and tracking of key department objectives and sales initiatives for growth. A main component of this position works directly with the Regional Trainers and Store Operations Teams to support communication needed for the execution of retail merchandising. This position drafts communications, creates reports, and coordinates special projects. Overview of Responsibilities Provides reporting and detailed analysis against key department sales tactics and initiatives as assigned including, but not limited to, weekly ad results using key metrics. Supports category management with ad planning, including layouts and pricing for department. Manage department ad proofing and editing process for weekly circular ads. Manage weekly promotional retail pricing for designated regions, markets, and/or stores. Support category management and retail merchandising in the development of merchandising ROGs (Rollout Guides), plans and schematics that drive increased share and category growth. Work directly with the Category Managers and the Store Operations Team to develop and maintain weekly sales focus plans that drive incremental sales growth. Work directly with the Deli Merch Team and the Store Operations Team to develop, coordinate and maintain weekly Merch Notes, Ad Directives and Playbook communications. Assist in coordinating new program roll outs and new item processes to target key consumer trends while optimizing overall product assortment. Supports Culinary Team in the creation and updating of department operational standards and production manuals. Ensures uniformity and consistency in all department documents and communications. Supports store level personnel/operations in resolving Service Now tickets, pricing, item and supplier issues. Maintains a high level of store and product awareness through store visits and trade show attendance as needed. Works directly with the Deli Merch Team to support department financial objectives. Maintain Sprouts culture and a strong working relationship with vendors and co-workers. Plan & manages weekly team meetings for department. Other related duties as assigned. #LI-CS1 Qualifications Bachelor Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Two (2) years of experience related to perishable retail purchasing, marketing and/or merchandising Supermarket Grocery experience preferred Requires outstanding communication skills amongst a strong interpersonal attitude that demonstrates organization, multi-tasking and prioritization Requires experience in Microsoft Suite, with a high level proficiency in Microsoft Excel High degree of creativity and ability to work independently Benefits In addition to a rewarding career, Sprouts offers a comprehensive program to help support you and your family.
