Pay Schedule: Weekly
Non-Exempt: Compensation starts at $47,840 – $56,160 yearly depending on experience.

Position Summary
The Department Supervisor oversees the daily operations of a department, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to production schedules, and compliance with quality standards. This role involves supervising machine operators, managing maintenance schedules, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and minimize downtime.
Essential Duties
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervision and Leadership:
+ Lead, manage, and motivate a team.
+ Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and performance expectations.
+ Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Operations Management:
+ Oversee daily operations to ensure timely and accurate completion of jobs.
+ Monitor and maintain production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
+ Allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Quality Control:
+ Ensure all processes comply with company quality standards and client specifications.
+ Implement quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections.
+ Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
Equipment Maintenance:
+ Schedule and oversee regular maintenance of machines to prevent breakdowns.
+ Coordinate with maintenance staff or external vendors for repairs and technical support.
+ Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
Process Improvement:
+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
+ Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and reduce costs.
+ Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
Safety and Compliance:
+ Ensure the department adheres to all safety regulations and company policies.
+ Conduct safety training and enforce safe working practices.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Administrative Duties:
+ Prepare and maintain production reports, attendance records, and other documentation.
+ Assist in budgeting and cost control for the department.
+ Handle employee scheduling, timekeeping, and performance evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
+ Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in similar operations, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting mail-inserting machines and related equipment.
+ Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze production data and make informed decisions.
+ Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle unexpected issues efficiently.
+ Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
Decision Making
Decisions significantly affect the strategy, operational, and business decisions that affect the department. Problems are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills and general precedents and practices.
Independence of Action
Results are defined, and existing practices are used as guidelines to determine specific work methods and carry out work activities independently; the supervisor/manager is available to resolve problems.
People Management
Supervises the work of others, including planning, assigning, and scheduling work, reviewing work, ensuring quality standards, training staff, and overseeing their productivity. May offer recommendations for hiring, termination, and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
+ Work is performed in a warehouse or production facility environment.
+ May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, and dust.
+ Must be able to lift 50 pounds, push 800 pounds on a load-bearing cart, carry 25 pounds, and pull 200 pounds.
+ Must be able to use hand tools, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
+ It requires frequent standing, walking, crouching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and using repetitive motions of hands or wrists; finger, grasp, handle, or feel; reach with arms and hands for extended periods.
+ The role is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and physical activity.
+ Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
