Element has an opportunity for a Department Supervisor in our Warren, MI lab. The Department Supervisor manages the team of administrative Technical Writers and guides the technical staff in timely completion of daily work, quality, and performance.
Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations within the AdministrativeDepartment, including managing Technical Writers and scheduling personnel and resourcesLead the team to meet company metrics on report delivery for on-time delivery and first-time accuracyMaintain test reports, records, and files of testing report revisionsEnsure compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) screening requirements for all relevant processes, including employee access, visitor protocols, and documentationManage front desk administration, including greeting visitors, monitoring access to the facility, and coordinating incoming communicationsServe as the primary point of contact for basic office management tasks such as supplies ordering, vendor coordination, and maintaining a professional and efficient office environmentConfer with lab leadership to drive continuous process improvements and ensure alignment on administrative support for operationsPossible additional administrative responsibilities as neededThis job description reflects an assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned Other duties and tasks may be assigned to this job at the Company’s discretion Skills / Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in a technical field and college level courses completed preferred but not required or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role in an industry similarWorking knowledge of Laboratory safety and quality
