Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to safely provide our customers with the reliable, affordable, clean energy they depend on. **What** **does a Departmental Specialist** **do** **for** **us?** Under minimum direction and acting on own initiative and direction, a Departmental Specialist provides complex specialized support for one or more departments or administrative units. They typically support multiple senior or business unit managers and staff. Typical duties include maintenance of complicated data systems, research, compilation, and analysis of data for reports/studies. Assignments involve work of a confidential nature and require knowledge of the practices and procedures of the function, company policies, and programs. They act as a coordinator of departmental projects and may provide guidance or work leadership to lower-level staff. In addition to the meaningful work we do, we offer work-life balance, competitive pay and benefits, an employee incentive plan, and both a 401k employer-match and a pension plan, making Idaho Power one of the best employers in the state. **A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE** **Knowledge of:** + The department's functional areas and/or company policies & procedures + Department-specific systems and software, e.g., MS Project, SharePoint, Cascade, Asset Suite, etc. **Skills in:** + The operation of systems and software + Editing and proofreading to assist in composing the format and content of correspondence and technical documents while using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar **Ability to:** + Understand and apply basic mathematical calculations and concepts involving fractions, decimals, percentages, etc. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** **Education:** + High school Diploma or GED **Experience:** + 3 or more years of related experience **OR** + Equivalent combination of formal education and work experience **Preferred:** + 2 years of Idaho Power experience **Licenses & Certifications:** + Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
