The departmental technician administers the laws of the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act (MMMA), Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act (MRTMA), Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (MMFLA), Administrative Rules and CRA policies and procedures to assist both internal and external customers by telephone and email with general inquiries, case-specific problems and/or concerns and assistance with the online licensing portal. This position is also responsible for processing, sorting, scanning, uploading mail and other in office duties within CRA. This position will serve as support for the Michigan Medical Marijuana Program (MMMP) to include: review documentation and process applications for registry identification cards and determine applicants’ eligibility to participate in the registry program in accordance with statutory and rule provisions; perform criminal background checks, review criminal histories and determine caregivers’ eligibility for the program; respond to record requests with oversight from the record analyst and respond to complaints; and provides backup support to other functional areas. This position will also serve as support for the facility licensing of new and renewal applications and change forms and amendments to applications and determine all necessary criteria is in place for application review and processing that will be done in accordance with statutory mandates, rules and departmental policy. Process FOIA requests, scanning preparation of paper applications, create online records in the application portal, validate the completeness and accuracy of online records created in the online application portal and process the intake of applications, forms, and amendments pursuant to the established retention and disposal processes.
