The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Deployment Strategy Analyst reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Deployment & Itinerary Planning.

 

This position works on-site in Miami, Florida.

 

Position Summary:

Each brand’s deployment is a core pillar of strategic vision, driver of guest satisfaction and financial performance. The Corporate Deployment Team, part of the Finance organization of the Royal Caribbean Group, partners closely with each brand on implementation of overall deployment strategy and execution of detailed itineraries.   

 

The Deployment Analyst will work closely with Operations, Shore Excursions, Destination Development, Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management, International and other departments shoreside and shipboard to confirm and optimize each itinerary. Will incorporate various constraints including competitive environment, environmental, infrastructure, geopolitical, weather into the detailed planning. As part of this, the Analyst will also liaise with various ports, port agents, destinations and internal teams to resolve berth congestion, modify itineraries and develop contingency planning. The level of engagement varies by brand. 

 

This position involves conducting quantitative analyses, competitive research, and market analyses to enhance and optimize detailed itinerary planning. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with brand deployment teams and key departments to facilitate the deployment process, aiming to maximize profit potential and enhance guest satisfaction while balancing various constraints and ensuring operational feasibility.   Itinerary Management: Manage and update ship deployment files to reflect any itinerary decisions or changes. Assist in compiling deployment itinerary details for bi-weekly brand and executive meetings.  Contingency Planning: Develop & implement detailed contingency plans for itineraries in the event of geo-political events, operational issues and berthing conflicts.  Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of processes and tools necessary for effective deployment planning.  Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with ports, governments, and other stakeholders worldwide to enhance itinerary quality and ensure alignment on calls and planning.  Operational Coordination: Partner with the Deployment Ops team to track port responses, resolve berthing conflicts, and ensure confirmation before and after going to market.  Approval Processes: Coordinate itinerary changes and seek approval for new itineraries from various internal departments.  Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate with Brands and Marine, Port Operations, and Revenue Management teams on dry dock proposals and timing. Work closely with charter sales teams to validate itinerary proposals.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

Educational Background: BBA or bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline required.  Creative thinking and detail-oriented approach.  Proactive mindset with a strong problem-solving aptitude.  Ability to structure logical quantitative analyses of complex issues.  Strong MS Excel skills, with proficiency in accessing and manipulating data from various sources.  Strong oral and written communication skills.  Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with sound judgment.  Ability to operate effectively within a cross-functional environment and accept immediate project responsibility.  Experience in cruise line itinerary planning and/or revenue management preferred.  In-depth knowledge of the cruise industry is preferred but not essential; the desire and ability to learn quickly are more critical.
