Residency Program Director (Open Rank Assistant, Associate, Professor/Clinical)

The UT Health San Antonio, School of Dentistry in the Department of Developmental Dentistry, Division of Pediatrics, is seeking an individual to fulfill a full-time faculty position of Assistant, Associate or Professor/Clinical level. This position will include the role of the Residency Program Director,  for the Pediatric Division.

Description: The Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry offers the advanced student a balanced curriculum in both didactic and clinical areas. Particular emphasis is placed on hospital dentistry, conscious sedation, interceptive orthodontics, and special patient care. The program is administered by the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and is approved and accredited by the ADA Council of Dental Education. Upon successful completion of all requirements, the student is awarded a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and meets the advanced education eligibility requirements of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Duties: Duties for this position include supervision of Pediatric Dentistry residents in the clinical setting, didactic and clinical teaching in the graduate Pediatric Dentistry and pre-doctoral programs.   Will also train interns and provide long-term continuity to service and duties important to the departmental teaching mission by developing, revising, and implementing curriculum based on best practices. Recruitment, selection, and evaluation of residents are required, and collaboration with faculty and staff ensures the program's educational requirements are met in each practice location (UT Health SA Center for Oral Health and Research, Ricardo Salinas Clinic, and Children's Hospital of San Antonio).

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a DDS or DMD degree, have completed an ADA-accredited advanced educational program in Pediatric Dentistry, be board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and be eligible for a Texas Dental License and must have a Texas Dental license by start date.  The UT Health San Antonio will conduct background check on all candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer.
