Title Deputy AHJ *Repost* Position Number 39378 Company WA River Protection Solutions City/State Richland, WA Location 2435 Stevens Posted 09/26/2024 Closes 10/14/2024 Regular/Temporary Regular Full/Part-Time Full-Time Job Responsibilities/Duties Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is the tank farm operating contractor at the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. The WRPS mission is to safely store, retrieve, and treat 56 million gallons of legacy radioactive and hazardous waste. This complex mission spans all competencies of engineering/science accomplished through a highly integrated organization engineering organization. The Deputy AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) Supports WRPS Engineering. The position's work activities have a variety of duties including but not limited to: Performing duties of assisting the AHJ/electrical system engineer with the requirements of National Electrical Code, conducting field NEC inspections, performing and/or reviewing calculations, development/review of load studies, performance of design review, procedural review, etc. and/or electrical maintenance engineering duties. Daily interface with all Engineering team members including staff members, vendors, etc. regarding Base Operations work scope and milestone commitment. Daily interface with Operations Management and bargaining unit personnel. Weekly interface & coordination with WRPS program areas. Some interface with external oversight agencies. Systems include Tank Farm power distribution, instrumentation, and/or controls. Candidates must exhibit a working knowledge of National Electric Code and other Electrical Industry Standards. Successful candidates will be provided and should be interested in potential available opportunities for further career enhancement and development. Perform special assignments as identified by Engineering Programs Manager and/or Chief Engineer. In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must possess the following: Knowledge of multi-phase low voltage electrical systems. Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926 Working knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code. Working knowledge of NFPA 70B Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance Working knowledge of NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace Required Qualifications Grade 20: Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree and 10 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Grade 21: Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree and 12 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Desired Qualifications -Knowledge of NFPA 55 Compressed Gasses and Cryogenic Fluids Code -Knowledge of NFPA 56 Standard for fire and explosion Prevention During Cleaning and Purging of -Flammable Gas Piping Systems -Knowledge of NFPA 67 Guide on Explosion Protection for Gaseous Mixtures in Pipe System -Knowledge of NFPA 77 Recommended Practice on Static Electricity -Minimum Eight (8) years of experience working with engineering processes and procedures. -ICC or IAEI Certified NEC Inspector -Knowledge of NRTL process -Experience working in the Nuclear field Compensation & Benefits In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
