Deputy Attorney General, Water Resources, Office of the Attorney General

Salary: Depends on Experience (DOE), starting at $90,000
Primary Duties: We are looking for a talented attorney to help advise the Idaho Department of Water Resources on water matters that will shape the history of water law. From the Snake River Basin Adjudication, the largest water adjudication in U.S. history, to the management of surface and ground water resources conjunctively, Idaho is at the forefront of water issues in the West. Join the legal team that is writing the next chapter in water law and water administration. We do it all – from advising IDWR, to appearing before the Idaho Water Adjudication Court, to arguing cases before the Idaho Supreme Court. Candidates need to have strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills as they will assist in drafting orders and may appear in judicial review proceedings before Idaho courts. This is a unique role where you can make an impact, develop professionally and shape the future.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be licensed to practice law in Idaho and have a desire to work in public service. Strong academic qualifications are required.
Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years legal experience strongly preferred. Relevant legal and technical work experience or undergraduate technical coursework is desirable.
Location: Boise, Idaho. As Idaho's capital, Boise serves as headquarters for several major national and international corporations. Boise offers a rich variety of both cultural and recreational opportunities. Idaho's world-famous fly fishing, skiing, kayaking, and hiking are all within easy access.
