The New York Post is seeking a bold, dynamic **Deputy Design Editor (M-F)** to help lead our Design team. This role is perfect for a creative powerhouse with a sharp eye for design, strong leadership chops, and the ability to thrive on-site in a fast-paced newsroom. As the Deputy Design Editor, you'll play a key role in shaping the visual identity of one of the most iconic media brands, ensuring our content is as striking as our headlines.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Oversee the day-to-day operations of the design department, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are executed with precision and flair.
+ Drive the creative vision and strategy across all platforms—print, digital, and social—to deliver bold, engaging designs that align with The New York Post's brand.
+ Provide final approval on high-impact projects, including cover designs, special editions, digital campaigns, and social media content.
+ Lead, mentor, and inspire the design team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
+ Bring an innovative, state-of-the-art expertise in industry trends and emerging technologies.
+ Collaborate closely with editorial, photo, and social teams to ensure cohesive storytelling across all platforms.
+ Ensure all digital content is optimized for mobile, web, and emerging platforms, with a strong focus on user experience and engagement.
+ Introduce new tools, techniques, and design best practices to keep the Post at the forefront of media design.
**Requirements:**
+ 6-8 years of graphic design leadership experience in a fast-paced editorial or newsroom environment.
+ Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
+ Expert proficiency with After Effects or other motion graphics tools.
+ Strong digital-first mindset with a deep understanding of design best practices for web, mobile, and social media platforms.
+ Proven leadership and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing design team in a fast-paced environment.
+ Passion for news, sports, viral content, pop culture, and emerging digital trends.
+ Strong typography, layout, and visual storytelling skills.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a knack for problem-solving under pressure.
+ Willingness to work on weekends and holidays as needed.
**_Note: The New York Post adheres to a hybrid work model. This role will be expected to report into the office 4 days per week (subject to change depending on business needs)._**

Pay Range: $95,000 - $145,000
