Yes County To Be Determined Street Address TBD City TBD State NY Zip Code 00000 Minimum Qualifications Possession of a Master's Degree in a mental hygiene discipline (e.g., occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, psychology, recreation, rehabilitation counseling, education or nursing), hospital administration, business or public administration or other area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science, statistics, quantitative research; OR a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada; AND three years of progressively responsible administrative, management, or supervisory experience in a mental hygiene or health/human services setting, or comparable setting, delivering individualized and customized services. Experience must be at a leadership level, with broad policy-influencing responsibility for fiscal and program administration. OR A Bachelor's Degree in any of the disciplines listed above and five years of progressively responsible administrative, management, or supervisory experience in a mental hygiene or health/human services setting, or comparable setting, delivering individualized and customized services. Duties Description Through the five Regional Field Office(s) with OPWDD over 130,000 individuals are supported through collaboration and engagement with over 700 voluntary providers, 6 State Operated Development Disabilities Service Operation Offices, and 7 Care Coordination Service Organizations. Region Field Office 4 oversight encompasses the 5 boroughs of New York City.Regional Office 4 supports approximately 54,000 individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the 5 boroughs which represents 36% of people statewide. Services are provided by 260 providers in Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island.The senior leadership team of Region 4 consists of a Regional Office Director, 3 Deputy Directors that support the five boroughs of NYC, and 5 DDPS IVs that oversee the 9 units of the Regional Office. Responsibilities of the deputy director will include but not limited to: • Oversee the Manhattan and Bronx offices (Metro).• Although the deputy director will have direct oversight over several units, region 4 embraces the spirit of collaboration across all teams therefore the incumbent will play an important role in supporting all 9 units within the regional field office: Service Access (Front Door and Waiver Services), Eligibility, Self-Direction, Housing, Crisis, Property/Development, Fiscal, and Quality Assurance/Technical Assistance (QMTA).• Oversee several units which will include supervising and supporting staff growth, monitoring quality, metrics, responding to and engaging community partners related to supports and services, and provider sustainability.• Community partner engagement with provider agencies, provider associations, and 5 local developmental disability and family advisory councils, Care Coordination Organizations, New York City government divisions, and other state agencies. • The deputy director will have frequent public speaking responsibilities in a range of internal and public-facing meetings, events, and will occasionally attend community events such as resource fairs.• Ensure a timely response to litigation, commissioner, governor, and central office inquiries.• Use technology and data as a management tool, working collaboratively with the other members of the leadership team and QMTA to ensure the regional field office is operating efficiently and operating in adherence to regulation and established statewide protocols and processes.• Demonstrate an ability to adapt to an ever-evolving system which includes improvements to regional field office operations and processes. • Travel between borough offices is required as well as intermittent travel to other areas of the state. *This position may be filled at 2400 Halsey St, Bronx or 25 Beaver St, New York.*Telecommuting to be discussed at interview.
