Role Purpose
The Deputy E-Trade Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our Online E Trade operations teams. This position is integral to ensuring that our online policies are managed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with country and regulatory requirements. The Deputy Manager will support the EMEA Online Product Owner by leading a team of operations personnel, optimizing operational processes, and collaborating with both UW and IT departments to enhance the overall performance of our Online portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Assist the EMEA Online Product Owner in managing all operational aspects of our Online porfolio. Ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of policy transactions, underwriting, and renewals. Monitor system functionality and performance, addressing any operational issues promptly.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled team of operations technicians and support staff. Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment. Oversee training initiatives to enhance employee knowledge of our Online e trade systems and insurance products.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and leverage technology to streamline operations and lead a movement of tasks towards the most efficient qualified team. Collaborate with IT and technology teams to improve the functionality of e-trade platforms and tools for underwriting and policy management. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to e-trade operations.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Monitor e-trade activities for compliance and risk management, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues. Assist in conducting audits, compliance checks, and risk assessments.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate regular reports on trading activities, operational performance metrics, and compliance status. Analyze data trends to provide insights and recommendations for operational improvement and strategic decision-making.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with underwriting, claims, finance, and compliance departments to facilitate seamless e-trade operations. Manage vendor relationships for e-trade technology and services, ensuring optimal functionality and support.Requirements and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations within the insurance industry, with a focus on e-trading or underwriting operations.Strong understanding of insurance products, electronic trading processes, and relevant regulatory compliance requirements.Proven experience in team management and leadership, with excellent interpersonal skills.Proficiency in using insurance-specific trading platforms and operational tools; familiarity with risk management software preferred.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Skills and Competencies:Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, BI tools).Strong decision-making capabilities and a strategic mindset.Adaptability to changes in technology and regulatory landscape.Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish, other European languages advantageous
