KBR is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to be responsible for providing support to the contract Program Manager of the Extravehicular Activities (EVA) Space Operations Contract (ESOC) at the KBR Houston Engineering and Logistics Operations (HELO) facility and NASA Sonny Carter Neutral Buoyancy Lab (NBL). ESOC provides sustaining engineering for EVA Systems, support for Space Flight and Ground Testing, mission/increment planning for on-orbit EVA Operations, and processes EVA Life Support Systems and hardware for EVA training. ESOC primarily supports the Johnson Space Center (JSC) EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP) Mission Implementation Office and Crew and Thermal Systems Division. The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) is responsible for ensuring that the work performed is at a level of quality, schedule, and cost that is consistent with the expectations of the customer.
The selected candidate will serve as the deputy KBR contract manager and shall be the authorized interface with the Prime’s Program Manager, Contracts Representative, program management personnel and customer representatives. Will interface with the NASA EHP Mission Implementation Office, and Crew and Thermal Systems Division. Coordinates and monitors the safety, technical performance, and cost of the ESOC contract. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules. Develops solutions to program problems and directs work of managers and other employees. Responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. This position reports to the Vice President, Human Exploration Division for the KBR Science & Space Business Unit.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with terms of the ESOC contract, task orders, and with government and company policies, standards, and proceduresEnsure efficient utilization and availability of staff as designated by the PMPromote staff morale through proper compensation, training, and career developmentEnsure that ESOC baseline contract and IDIQ deliverables are submitted accurately and on-timeEnsure compliance of ESOC processes to support EVA flight hardware Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR) Supervise execution of procurement processCoordinate monthly business rhythmsCollaborate with other Human Exploration Division contracts within KBRQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldExperienced Manager in progressively responsible technical and management positionsExperience with leading teams that include front line managers (i.e. process improvement, strategic development, change management, proposal efforts, etc.)Experience or exposure to EVA technical requirements (flight, training and ground support equipment hardware) preferredExperience or exposure to NASA technical requirements, AS9100 Quality Management Systems and certification requirements preferred.Established customer relationshipsExperience in managing government contracts with multiple contract types preferredDemonstrated experience managing teams in a dynamic operational environmentDemonstrated strong stakeholder engagement skillsDemonstrated ability to develop exceptional customer/partner relationshipsStrong consensus building and team building skillsDemonstrated Risk/Opportunity managementExperience with design, development, and delivery of spaceflight hardware preferredExperience with program or project budgeting, scheduling, and tracking tools or techniques preferredKBR Benefits
