Tetra Tech is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support our Asbestos Hazard and Emergency Response Act (AHERA) contracts. Candidates should have expertise with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)'s AHERA program, policies, best practices, and approaches for the management of asbestos response and cleanup of releases of asbestos containing materials (ACM); and appropriate inspection and abatement methodologies.

Qualifications:

BS degree from an accredited college or university in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences, engineering, or geologic sciences is required.  Advanced degree in an environmental science, environmental engineering or environmental management field is preferred. At least 10 years’ experience managing complex environmental projects under AHERA or hazardous waste response programs. Previous experience managing large task orders under Federal, State, and Municipal government contracts, fostering and maintaining client relations, interacting with contract support staff (including subcontracting, procurement, billing, quality assurance, safety, and administrative personnel), and coordinating technical/financial aspects of various contracts. Excellent client interaction skills and ability to identify and comply with multi-media environmental regulations and guidance at the highest levels. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proven record of building and leading teams that solve complex problems. At least 15 years’ experience in environmental consulting or related experience. Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar registration in the environmental field.

Education and Certifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required and a Master's Degree preferred.  OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, and EPA AHERA Inspector training required.  Management planner/designer licensing strongly desired.

Work Environment:

The position's primary work environment is in client facilities in Center City Philadelphia.

The successful Applicant must be able to pass a Federal Criminal History Background Check, A Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record Check, and a PA Dept. of Public Welfare Child Abuse History check.  Routine drug testing may be required for access to client locations.
