Deputy Project Manager (DPM)

Who You Are:

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time Deputy Project Manager (DPM) of Infrastructure Asset Maintenance serving in a critical leadership role in the project management team supporting the Central Florida Expressway Authority. The DPM, reporting to the Project Manager, is responsible for day-to-day management of CFX toll facilities along SR408, SR417, SR528, SR429, SR414 SR551, the CFX Headquarters Building, the former CFX office, and the E-PASS Service Centers in Orange County, Florida. This includes Toll Plaza and Building Maintenance, Electrical/Mechanical/Generator Systems and Emergency Repair and Incident Response. Working in cooperation with CFX’s maintenance management, the DPM has authority to make staffing, subcontracting, work planning, work needs, means and methods, and business decisions on behalf of Louis Berger for Maintenance Services. The DPM is also the direct line of contact for all subcontractors and the first line for Quality Assurance on the project, covering:

Development, and oversight of Quality Management Plan and processes.Oversight of all in-house personnel dedicated to the project and based full time at Versar’s operations and maintenance (O&M) facility.Regular field audits of maintenance activities to continuously improve quality.

What You’ll Do:

Provides daily oversight of the company’s facility maintenance operations to include resource allocation, activity scheduling, workload prioritization, issue resolution, customer service, and CFX client interface.Ownership and implementation of the company safety program to include updating the project safety plan, conducting safety training, regulatory compliance, and promoting the overall safe operation and culture of the company.Development of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans for on various types of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, to include routine, reactive and emergency services of facilities and its components.Oversight of personnel and subcontractors in the performance of field operations and maintenance activities. Ensures work is performed on time and within budget.Ensures company services and work products are delivered in compliance with the CFX/FDOT standards and specifications and reporting requirements.Completion of deliverables and reporting requirements in accordance with the client contract and company requirements. Maximizes the use of company’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage work orders, capture production, perform quality control, and complete reports.Understand and abide by ethical behavior and integrity standards, per WSP’s Code of Business Conduct.Actively manage, focus on client’s key performance measures to maintain positive relationships with the Central Florida Expressway Authority.Actively track, monitor, research validity and compliance with subcontract agreements for all work on cycles. Communicate with subcontractors and project team.  Assist with managing project contract documents, codes, policies and proceduresAssist PM with invoice review, holding client project meetings, preparing regular reports, field inspections as required and other duties related to IAM site activitiesAssist in reviewing insurance claims & advise managementTravel throughout the region may be required, vehicle will be necessary with valid driver’s license.Must fill in for Site Manager as neededPerforms other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

Associate’s degree in management, technical or engineering related field. High school diploma or equivalent plus ten years of field operations supervisory experience acceptable.Five (5) years of experience in operations management or supervision preferably in transportation, construction, engineering, or maintenance field. Experience in a state or local DOT or private toll authority a plus.Fifteen (15) years of overall experience with 10 years of progressive experience supervising, managing or leading teams and resources. Experience as an area operations manager or inspector on large scale projects.Must be able to assist in the development of a project work plan, monitor manpower and performance against that work plan.Must be able to manage the various projects using established controls and procedures and provide field leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, quality, coordination with the subcontractors and any critical issues pertinent to the project or the client / facility. Demonstrates knowledge and experience with various types of building components and systems.   Electrical experience with knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems a plus. Utilizes experience and working knowledge of equipment, tools, and methods commonly applied in repairing HVAC in commercial buildings to mentor the team and develop technicians.Strong facilities maintenance background with experience of inspection requirements for various maintenance management activitiesStrong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Windows/Outlook/Word/Excel and internal scheduling applicationsPossess and maintain a valid United States Driver’s LicenseAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularlyAbility to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of timeWillingness to work varying or alternate hours, including nights and weekends as neededAbility to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditionsAbility to work along local roadways, interstates, and or/highways with commuter traffic passing by at varying rates of speedExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Proficiency in English communication, both written and verbal, is essential for performing the duties of this role effectively.Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.

Compensation 

Expected Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
