Deputy Recreation Manager
**Purpose and Scope:** The Deputy Recreation Manager will work under the Recreation Manager to oversee all recreation services. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF). **Essential Responsibilities:** + Provide program planning and execution, labor, and supervision of contract labor to meet all recreation service requirements and support the mission of the AAAF Encourage and coordinate with volunteers at various events. + Provide recreation services to support all AAAF recreation service requirements to include the operation of company stores, the armed forces network (AFN), a rescue boat recreation program, swimming pool operations, barber and hair stylist services, a base library (with commercial internet access), a base gym, movie theater services, and other recreational facilities. + Provide a monthly status report of each recreation activity + Any other items as directed or as outlined in PWS + Maintain and provide recommendations on how to improve recreation facilities, e.g., athletic fields, swimming pool, tennis courts, racquetball courts, etc. **Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** + Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in supervising and managing DoD recreation or club management operations or six (6) years of comparable civilian experience. + Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills + High school diploma or equivalent. + Ability to read and write English is required. + Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills. + Strong ability to work and lead as a member of a diverse, dynamic team. + Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment. + Possess a valid issued driver’s license, passport from their country and could obtain a work visa. + Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment. + Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN). + Prefer candidate who has experience working on a US Government contract. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** + Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies. + Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds. + Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. + Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. + Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
