Details: + Public Health Physician Leadership Opportunity + Focus on Infectious Disease & Emergency Preparedness, and Healthcare-Associated Infections + Location: Augusta, Maine + Schedule: Full Time (possible hybrid options) + Start Date: January 2025 + Medical Malpractice covered + Paid weekly- direct deposit Requirements: + Graduated from allopathic or osteopathic medical school and completed a clinical residency + Holds an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Maine (or eligible to become licensed) + Must pass appropriate background checks Preferred candidates will also have: + Master of Public Health degree, other master’s degree, or doctoral degree related to public health or clinical research, or completion of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Epidemic Intelligence Service fellowship program + Board certification in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Preventive Medicine, or Infectious Diseases + 2 or more years work experience in applied public health epidemiology, such as working as a medical epidemiologist at a state, local, or county health agency or at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Responsibilities: + Provide consultative and professional advice and expertise to the Maine CDC executive management team. + Serve as a medical expert in emergency response activities at the agency level and/or within Maine CDC divisions as needed. + Exercise independent judgement in recommending healthcare preparedness activities and infection control activities to clinicians across the State of Maine. + Exercise independent judgement in recommending and implementing policy and protocol development for Maine CDC staff and operations.
