The anticipated salary range for this role is between $100,000.00 and $110,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. Role DescriptionSMBC CM is an established derivatives dealer with a broad product portfolio, with specific emphasis on interest rate and foreign exchange products, such as interest rate, cross-currency and FX swaps, FRAs, options and exotic structures.
We are looking for an experienced derivatives marketing analyst or associate to work on a team of derivatives marketers covering US Corporate clients. The candidate will support a senior marketer (Managing Director) and an entry-level marketer (First-year VP). Efforts will include managing all phases of the counterparty and trade life-cycle from company research, counterparty onboarding, preparation and delivery of marketing materials, pre-trade modeling -- to live trade execution and post-trade support.
Role Objectives: Delivery Act as the primary marketer on live trade executions while managing client and trader communications in addition to models and systems Oversee new and on-going counterparty onboarding requirements across credit, legal, AML/KYC, and compliance/regulatory groups Prepare pitchbooks and other marketing materials with a focus on determining meeting content, creating new materials, conducting analysis and writing text to support charts and tables Engage with clients through phone calls, video conferences and SMBC hosted events along with occasional client travel Assist in the development and delivery of derivative risk management solutions based on a thorough understanding of our clients’ business needs as well as gathering and analyzing data in relevant industries for new opportunities and solutions Interact with relationship bankers on client calling and credit management along with partners in debt capital markets and other product groups on specific client pitches and deal teams Qualifications and Skills At least one year of interest rate derivatives sales experience for an analyst, three years for an associate, preferably marketing to US corporate clients Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Math, Science, Engineering Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, including macros and coding Proficiency in Bloomberg including trade modeling, downloading data into Excel using formulas and Excel pricing functions Deep theoretical understanding of the pricing of interest rate derivatives, bond math, market and credit risk measurements and financial statements.
