Description
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Design and Project Assistant to support our design team in planning and executing interior projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members. As an assistant, you will assist with project coordination, design development, and administrative tasks to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Support:
+ Assist lead designers in developing design concepts, mood boards, and presentation materials.
+ Help source furniture, fabrics, lighting, flooring, and other materials to bring design visions to life.
+ Collaborate with the design team to create detailed drawings, layouts, and CAD files.
Project Coordination and Management:
+ Oversee project timelines and schedules to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.
+ Communicate with clients, vendors, and contractors to coordinate project details and resolve issues.
+ Assist in the preparation of purchase orders, invoices, and vendor agreements.
Administrative Tasks:
+ Organize and maintain material libraries, sample collections, and inventory records.
+ Perform data entry and maintain accurate documentation of project plans, orders, and communications.
+ Schedule meetings, site visits, and vendor appointments for the design team.
Client Interaction:
+ Attend client meetings and presentations to take notes and provide support.
+ Assist in delivering samples, mock-ups, and other materials to clients for review and approval.
+ Ensure client preferences and feedback are incorporated into design adjustments.
Site Visits and Inspections:
+ Conduct on-site visits to assist with measurements, installation oversight, and quality checks.
+ Document progress with photos and reports to share updates with the design team and clients.
Requirements
Education:
+ Degree or coursework in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience:
+ Previous experience in an interior design, architecture, or home staging environment is a plus.
+ Experience using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools.
Skills and Attributes:
+ Strong sense of aesthetics and attention to detail.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
+ Working knowledge of materials, finishes, and furnishings.
+ Familiarity with project management tools and software is a plus.
