Job Title: Design Associate
Job Description

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Design Associate to join our team. The Design Associate will support all phases of design, ensuring high standards are upheld, including service delivery and design integrity while creating value for our assets and company. This role involves executing design projects for commercial office spaces, supporting tenant leasing activities, and incorporating sustainability strategies into each project.

ResponsibilitiesProvide management and self-performance of design services, including space planning, schematic design, design development, construction document review, and project administration.Ensure the conceptualization, documentation, and execution of innovative, sustainable commercial office spaces that meet project objectives and customer needs while adhering to schedule, budget, and quality parameters.Collaborate with co-workers and industry experts to determine best practices for functional and impactful workplace environments and industry trends.Apply BOMA standards to ensure the integrity of space, suite, floor, building, and overall portfolio level square footage.Provide portfolio and task level design and project management, utilizing departmental and consulting design resources to execute projects successfully.Resolve workflow, resource, design, and technical issues among all parties.Incorporate innovative design solutions, creative charting, research, and technical development into workflow.Ensure accurate and effective communication, capture, and reporting of project status and performance data to stakeholders.Document, manage, and maintain accurate as-built information to support design and property operations.Maintain accurate as-existing building plans and support compliance with BIM and CAD project standards and procedures.Participate in the development and maintenance of data and file management standards and guidelines related to design services.Essential SkillsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA or NAAB accredited program.3-5 years of post-graduate professional design experience within the commercial office industry.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web-enabled applications.Proficient working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.Additional Skills & QualificationsContinued education in sustainable design practices.Knowledge and experience with Building Owners Management Association (BOMA) square foot standard application.Ability to work with additional design/graphic programs such as Sketch-Up, Adobe Creative Suite, PDF editor.Ability to adapt to new and changing technology platforms.Work Environment

This position is based at our headquarters in Columbia, MD. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, requiring five days onsite. The work environment includes a professional office setting with involvement in project management, planning, and working with prospects and tenants for test fitting. This role offers a 40-hour work week, making it a great entry point into real estate development.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

$80-85K role
Bonus 10% - 50% individual 50% company
New Hire Stock $24K vested over 5 years

Major plus is standard 40 hour work weeks - they work less hours than at traditional ID or A&E firms

This is a fully onsite position in Columbia,MD.
