Position Summary:
The Product Design Assurance Engineer ensures product design quality and robustness trough the difference phases of a product development process. The Design Assurance Engineer is support the Engineering team in following internal or external process and guidelines, and if missing define such process and train the team. They work cross-functionally and build strong working relationships with employees across different business functions including quality, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, customer service and product management.
Key Responsibilities:
•\tCollaborate with PMO and Engineering team to ensure effective and efficient implementation of PDP (product development process).
•\tWork cross-functionally and build strong working relationships with employees across business functions including quality, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, customer service and product management.
•\tEnsure that product development teams are meeting quality and safety standards of product design.
•\tLead DFMEA process and guide engineering team to create FMEA for new design and updating existing designs.
•\tParticipate in design reviews, change management process, and ensure design robustness before handing over design to production.
•\tParticipate in the development, maintenance and interpretation of policies and standard work for engineering and coordinate their implementation.
•\tSupport and contribute to product requirements development on projects.
Required Qualifications
•\tBachelor’s degree in engineering.
•\t2+ years of Product development experience preferably in industrial, automotive engineering.
•\tProven experience with leading Design FMEA’s.
•\tAt least 1 year experience with root cause analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
•\tBachelor’s degree in software or electrical engineering.
•\tExcellent presentation skills to effectively communicate to different stakeholders complex topics.
•\tExperience with Excel, statistical analysis software such as Minitab, and other engineering analysis tools.
•\tExperience with product development processes (e.g. phase gate structured).
•\tExperience with quality tools & methods (e.g. Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen).
•\tHighly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple projects & priorities.
•\tFamiliar with ISO9001, engineering standards, automotive quality standards and similar quality systems and processes.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
