About the Product Development Team

The Rejuvenation design team consists of highly creative, collaborative, and technical thinkers. As part of the design team, you will bring your design and organizational skills to the table to support the Hardware and Kitchen & Bath team to bring high quality designs to market.

 

Overview of the Design Coordinator

In this role, you will support the design team from concept to launch. You will manage project trackers for developments across multiple seasons, collaborate with cross functional partners to provide status updates for development samples, assembly of incoming samples, installation of samples for review, record notes for milestone presentations, and additional responsibilities associated with our quarterly launch cadence. As a key player for Hardware and Kitchen & Bath, the Design Coordinator will partner with the Design Supervisor for Hardware and Kitchen & Bath to maintain an organized process for maintaining a streamlined system for product development each quarter.  

 

Responsibilities

Provide updates within development trackers for Hardware and Kitchen & Bath via Airtable.  Track shipment of incoming and outgoing samples each quarter.  Assemble and install incoming samples for review. Products include cabinet hardware, wall shelving, hook racks, bath hardware, medicine cabinets, and more.  Record organized notes for weekly product development meetings, weekly product reviews with leadership, and quarterly milestone presentations.  Prepare for presentations including staging product, plotting designs, and preparing files for 3D print. Create technical specs for production, ensuring product standards and design intent are communicated to overseas vendors.  Create comment sheets for samples, providing constructive feedback to overseas vendors.  Manage sample library for cabinet hardware and bath hardware by maintaining organized storage solutions for incoming product and scheduling dedicated time to review samples. Transport materials, equipment, and lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis. Follow the company’s sustainability goals by allocating packaging and shipping materials to the correct disposal location (plastic and paper recycling, sample sale, secondhand donations, landfill, etc.) Support design team with technical specs for line extensions of existing collections (size expansions, finish expansions, and SKU expansions).  Collaborate with head merchants and designers to gather samples for quarterly omni-channel walkthroughs with the leadership team.  Support design with email communication between in-house design team and overseas offices to ensure design intent is communicated to vendors.  Participate in virtual and in-person vendor meetings to ensure designs and sampling are being produced on time. 

 

Criteria

Minimum of 1-year product development experience for retail products within the houseware industry.  Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word. Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud applications is required: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.   Preferred experience with 3D CAD software (Rhino) and 3D rendering software (Keyshot).  Has the ability to work with a broad range of cross-functional partners, inclusive of design, engineering, merchandising, and sourcing.  Ability to identify challenges and issues, followed up with actionable solutions to solve product challenges creatively and effectively.  Maintain a positive attitude, remain flexible, and solution oriented to be a successful team player.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to prioritize and schedule work in a tight deadline driven environment. Self-starter and problem solver who is driven, motivated and always has a positive attitude. Pride yourself on the quality of work and are a stickler for the details. Customer service oriented.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to transport materials or equipment or lifting, moving, carrying objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis Ability to work in office and perform in a professional, corporate environment.  Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong orientation to detail. In-depth problem-solving skills, with the ability to dive in and get things done; resourcefully.
