Design & Development Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated **Design & Development Engineer** to join our dynamic team in Augusta, Maine. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and continuous improvement of our equipment product line, with a focus on filtration equipment, primarily filter presses used for industrial dewatering applications. You will lead the effort to provide innovative solutions to meet customer needs, ensuring that designs are executed on time and within budget. **Key Responsibilities:** · **Engineering & Design:** Develop complex solutions for customer needs, including the design of mechanical, hydraulic, automation, and fluid mechanics systems. · **Project Leadership:** Provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle—from customer inquiry, project kick-off, and approval to construction and commissioning of the equipment. · **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work closely with internal teams such as Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Testing to ensure successful project delivery. · **Design Documentation:** Create submittal packages including CAD models, General Arrangement Drawings, P&ID diagrams, and detailed manufacturing drawings. · **Automation & PLC Development:** Collaborate with automation vendors to develop and define PLC program requirements. · **Ongoing Support:** Provide engineering support for the existing product line, ensuring continued customer satisfaction and product improvements. · **Technical Support & Troubleshooting:** Monitor project progress, identify potential technical issues, and provide solutions to maintain project schedules and budgets. · **Documentation & Compliance:** Review and approve project documentation such as BOMs, Product Structures, and Routings for release to manufacturing. **Qualifications:** · **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. · **Experience:** 5+ years of experience in Engineered-to-Order Projects, with a strong background in Capital Equipment design. · **Skills:** Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software **Required Competencies:** · Strong technical acumen and the ability to make confident technical decisions based on customer specifications and industry code standards. · Deep understanding of hydraulic systems, fluid mechanics, automation, pressure systems, and electro-mechanical design. · Ability to develop, document, and communicate project specifications effectively to internal teams. · Ability to identify and resolve technical challenges while maintaining project timelines and budgets. · Solid understanding of customer specifications, industry standards, and relevant codes as they pertain to capital equipment design. · Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work closely with customers and cross-functional teams. **Core Competencies:** · **Project Management:** Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and stay on track with deadlines and budgets · **Problem-Solving:** Excellent diagnostic skills, including the ability to conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting. · **Collaboration:** Strong teamwork abilities, working effectively with cross-functional teams. · **Continuous Improvement:** A mindset committed to improving processes, designs, and solutions. **Why Join Us?** · Be part of a leading company in the capital equipment industry. · Work in a collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment. · Opportunities for career growth and development. · Competitive salary and benefits package for this permanent job. **Pay Details:** $60.00 to $75,000.00 per year Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to https://www.adecco.com/en-us/candidate-privacy The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: + The California Fair Chance Act + Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance + Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers + San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance
