Job Description
As a Design Engineer for MiTek, SidePlate Connections you will develop and produce steel designs and contract documents for new and retrofit building/structural projects including, but not limited to, schools, offices, sporting facilities, hospitals, and medical office buildings.Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Create computer models using preliminary drawings and/or design criteria.
Develop and draw by hand project design details for construction.
Develop gravity and lateral frame solutions.
Participate in field visits to observe SidePlate connection fabrication and erection.
Prepare structural calculations and drawings for submission to Engineers of Record and Authorities having Jurisdiction.
Review shop drawings.
Review, evaluate and correct structural computer models provided to SidePlate by Engineer of Record, as required.
Understand project schedules and deliver contract documents on time.
Skills & Abilities
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering
Completion of FE Exam is a plus
Excellent understanding of statics, dynamics, and structural load path.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret applicable building codes, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical publications, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Strong skills mathematical skills in algebra, trigonometry, physics, statistics, calculus and strength of materials, structural analysis and design.
Ability to interact at a high level of professionalism with others; including co-workers, vendors and customers.
Attendance during regular work hours and overtime required.

In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the pay range for this position is estimated at $77,800-101,000/year and a 4% annual bonus.
