Job Title: Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team as we transition from AutoCAD to SolidWorks. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in SolidWorks who can assist in training and transitioning our team. The role involves working closely with the Sales Engineering department, internal and external customers, and performing design work primarily at a desk. Responsibilities + Assist in the transition from AutoCAD to SolidWorks. + Provide training and support to team members on SolidWorks. + Collaborate with the Sales Engineering department and interact with internal and external customers. + Perform design work, primarily sitting at a desk, to create and update drawings. + Shadow and visit the shop floor to gain a thorough understanding of the product line. + Meet drawing and design deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills + Extensive experience with SolidWorks. + 2 years of experience with AutoCAD (this can be obtained from college courses). + 1 year of experience in designing 3D packages (this can be obtained from college courses). + Associates degree in Mechanical Design or a Bachelor's degree. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with mechanical design and sheet metal. + Familiarity with ERP systems. + Knowledge of stainless steel design. Work Environment The role is primarily desk-based in a cubicle environment with an open area that facilitates easy communication with peers. The workday involves 90% desk designing and drawing tasks. The facility includes lasers, welding booths, and a loading dock for shipments.
