Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Design Engineer to join our team. This role involves interacting with customers to determine their needs in terms of distribution design improvements and subsequently designing the necessary work in our proprietary design software. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and opportunities for career growth in the utility industry.
ResponsibilitiesInteract with customers to understand their distribution design improvement needs.Design the required work using proprietary design software.Submit design requests in internal systems and oversee the completion of work in the field.Spend approximately 40% of time meeting with customers and 60% executing designs in the office.Essential SkillsElectrical knowledge, including understanding of transformers, electrical distribution of power, and conductors.Critical thinking skills.Professional presentation skills.Bachelor's degree in engineering (ME, EE, CE) or engineering technology (MET, EET, CET) from an ABET accredited program.Desire to work for a large utility company.Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid schedule with in-office work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. When in the office, you will have your own cubicle and workstation. You will work within a small team of technicians both in the office and field to complete projects. The dress code is business casual, typically jeans and a polo. After initial training, flexible working hours can be accommodated to support night classes and personal schedules, with typical hours ranging from 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.65 - $28.65
