We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to primarily work on engineering for machine equipment and custom machines such as handling systems, drill systems, and material conveyors. The role involves communicating with suppliers, designing customized elements like servo motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics, and conducting Finite Element Analysis when needed. The engineer will oversee projects from start to finish, including in-house assembly, and collaborate closely with the electrical department to integrate mechanical and electrical aspects of the machines. Approximately 60-70 percent of the workday will be spent behind the CAD station.
ResponsibilitiesWork on engineering for machine equipment and custom machines (handling systems, drill systems, material conveyors, etc.).Communicate with suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.Design customized elements such as servo motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.Conduct Finite Element Analysis as required.Oversee projects from start to finish, including in-house assembly.Collaborate with the electrical department to integrate mechanical and electrical aspects of machines.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in industrial equipment and machine design.Proficiency in 3D CAD software, with a preference for SolidWorks.Experience in machine design, machine tools, and fixture design.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or an associate degree preferred but not required.Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience is a plus.Fixture design experience is a plus.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00
