Job Description
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for performing design engineering tasks related to improvement projects. You will utilize 3-D CAD modeling and other engineering tools such as FEA to optimize solutions. Additionally, you will create, check, and maintain thorough engineering specifications and drawings, manage engineering changes, and support other departmental needs.
ResponsibilitiesPerform design engineering for improvement projects.Effectively use 3-D CAD to model designs and optimize solutions with engineering tools like FEA.Create, check, and maintain thorough engineering specifications and drawings.Manage engineering changes per established company procedures.Serve as a technical resource to support other departmental needs, such as operations, quality, purchasing, and service.Review customer drawings, specification drawings, and other applicable specifications to determine requirements and/or feasibility of components.Develop design concepts to meet required cost objectives, involving supply chain operations to provide technical information for component selection.Develop and/or guide necessary computations, such as load development, stress analysis, performance measurement, hydraulic circuit analysis, and costing, and interpret the results as necessary.Achieve due dates and pre-defined requirements set by management.Collaborate with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing and/or design issues and implement cost reduction ideas.Use root cause analysis and other problem-solving skills to improve products and implement corrective actions.Essential SkillsProficiency in Design and AutoCAD.Experience in structural design and engineering.Knowledge of product development processes.Proficiency in SolidWorks, FEA analysis, and Creo.Mechanical design expertise.Experience with ERP systems (Oracle).Background in construction engineering and construction equipment.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Engineering, preferably Design.Experience with Inventor.Strong technical and written skills for documentation.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Experience in structures.Ability to adjust priorities when sudden changes arise.Enjoys team-oriented work.Work Environment
This position involves working in a heavy manufacturing environment that includes plate and steel bending, fabrication, wire work, welding, and assembly lines. The role typically requires 40 hours per week, with the possibility of up to 45 hours during busy project periods. The company fosters a strong team culture and provides mentorship for new employees. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00
