The Design Electrical Engineer serves as a member of the Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls Design Engineering Unit at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant. This group serves as the owners of the design and licensing basis for the plant.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Prepare engineering change packages for modifications to the station, including design drawings, vendor drawings, specifications, and other applicable documents.Maintain electrical / instrumentation & controls calculations up to dateAssist in developing solutions to engineering technical issues in support of plant operation and maintenancePrepare technical reports and presentations on engineering technical issues as neededSupport problem identification and resolution using the Corrective Action ProgramEnsure changes to the design requirements are identified, documented, controlled, evaluated, and approvedManage and complete assigned activities to support timely implementation for required plant operationsMaintain the plant design and licensing basis complying with industry standards and regulationsParticipating in Problem Solving and Decision-Making teams, troubleshooting efforts and developing repair strategies for plant equipment as necessarySupporting the Emergency Response OrganizationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution is requiredProfessional level engineering experience desiredFundamentals of Engineering (FE) certificate is preferredMust possess sound research, analytical and technical abilitiesMust be able to work independently in leadership and mentoring roles with little supervisory involvementProficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical abilityStrong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make technical presentations to all levels of managementAbility to work extended hours and perform on-call duties when necessaryAble to deliver quality and accurate work within established deadlinesMust reside with site-specific ERO response timePrevious Cooperative Education experience is desirableFamiliarity with Nuclear Power Plant Design, licensing basis documents, and the processes used to maintain them is a plusJob Family
