Description The engineer will employ design strategies to fulfill successful execution of projects based on customer requirements. The engineer will work with the Project Managers, Account Managers, and Manufacturing Engineering to scope potential projects, innovate design ideas, create prototypes, review possible improvements, perform validation testing, and complete cost analyses to determine pricing which will be profitable and competitive. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Complete 3D design and 2D drawings based on specifications for each application. • Work on “Ongoing” projects to bring new designs and production capabilities into the business. • Generate unique design solutions for customer-specific applications. • Generate full production documentation and bills of materials for production. • Communicate with the production department and Manufacturing Engineering to resolve part fabrication, assembly, and testing issues. • Handle post-production issues with projects. • Regularly meet with the engineering team to discuss strategies to improve design practices and efficiencies to improve quality and increase throughput. • Process ECRs to capture all changes or errors caught during production . Qualifications • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field. 3+ years of Design Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally dealing with sheet metal, tubing, wire and wood. • Experience developing product design for manufacturing. • Strong SolidWorks experience. • Project development skills are essential. • Minimum of 3 years of wide-ranging experience in the development, implementation, and technical support with sustaining or improving product manufacturing process with responsibility for results, including costs and methods. • Demonstrated ability to work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. • Demonstrated experience in determining the best use of resources to meet the goals of assignments received in the form of objectives. • Able to follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.86/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
